The Almonry has had a varied life; it has been an ale house, offices, tea rooms, a private home and solicitor’s office. In the then Evesham Borough Council bought the Almonry from the Rudge family. In the Almonry opened as a museum occupying just 2 rooms. Evesham is a rural market town in Worcestershire, UK in the Local Authority District of Wychavon. Roughly equidistant between Worcester, Cheltenham, and Stratford-upon-Avon, it was originally built within a loop of the River Avon.

This 14th Century building was once home to the Almoner of the Benedictine Abbey that was founded at Evesham in the 8th Century. We are open (Mar to Oct) Monday to Saturday pm and (Nov to Feb) Monday, Tuesday and Thursday to Saturday pm.

The staff are very knowledgeable and willing to share stories about local histories. Only £5 adult entry/5(). The museum is spread out over a dozen rooms in the historic Almonry, and include displays on Evesham Abbey, Simon de Montfort and the Battle of Evesham, Saxon finds in the area, Georgian costumes, gardening, and archaeology.

There is a special exhibit on the impact that the two world wars had on the town of Evesham.
